CleverCoin was a Dutch Bitcoin exchange opened in 2013. Our goal was to make Bitcoins accessible to anyone, even the less technically gifted, by offering a clear and understandable interface. It allowed users to trade bitcoins simple, securely and fast. With CleverCoin I had the opportunity to go to Silicon Valley for three months as part of the Boost VC accelerator programme.

Interface

At CleverCoin I was mostly concerned with designing the interface and user experience. I tried to make the process of trading bitcoins as smooth as possible, even for the uninitiated. This was a very different approach from competing exchanges with advanced trading interfaces and steep learning curves. We had a customer of 96 years old buying bitcoin for her grandchildren, which showcases the accessibility of the platform.
