I came up with an idea for a game mechanic that I did not see before in any other game. The idea was to keep the world scene stable with respect to the perspective of the player. By using the gyroscope in the phone, turning the phone would rotate only a rocket but not the world around it, which proved to be a very intuitive way to play.

The game was written using phaser.js, a game engine for many different game projects over the years. The proof of concept allowed the player to steer around a rocket, collect coins and speed boosts, and shoot enemies and collide with planets.

Even though I really liked the project, I never got further than this. I have some ideas about how to add some progression to make the game actually enjoyable. I hope to one day return to this and finish it!
